God nudged me, woke me, chilled me awake
I saw you shivering
I knew my blanket was yours now.
Joyfully, I complied, and found myself warm inside.
My breath was relaxed; my book, moving.
You protested, accepted, rested.
Then returned the favor twice.
Got up to give me back that blanket,
Went walking and returned with seven more.
I wanted to give to you in case you were Christ.
You must have been,
because you gave me back twice what I had and gave also to those next to me.
You are ridiculous, God, and I love you.
